To me the regency h2100 sounds exactly what I want/need , only problem is it's firebox size. Is there any reason nobody else has made an insert that portrudes that far our onto a hearth? I would love a monster firebox insert with the same setup as the regency h2100. Anyone think the h2100 could heat 1700 sq ft with 25ft cathedral ceilinga? The idea of radiant/blower heat and low profile seem perfect for those who can't or don't want a freestanding infront of a fireplace opening. Let's see what u guys think

Have you looked at the Lopi Freedom? It would easily heat your setup.

Seems like another insert I don't doubt it's abilities and it is beautiful but I mean the design of the h2100 sticking out far why not make a larger box insert with the same design?
I'm about 2 seconds away from stopping my chaotic choice making and picking myself up an englander nc30 cutting the legs short and sliding it halfway into my fire place

Have you looked at any Buck stoves? I believe that you can install some of them without the legs.

How far out does the h2100 sit? The Freedom sits out about 8". And it is a 3 cu ft box. It heats my 2400 sq ft home easily.

You can get a short leg kit for that stove. Also as Dairyman mentioned the Bucks can be installed as inserts or free standers.

Weather guy I believe you have posted on all of my random idea posts! Appreciate your input . Here is my current idea. I finally got my fiancé to stray from the insert only idea. I would like to get the nc30 and take advantage of my military discount. I am thinking that I will still do an 8" insulated liner and block off plate. Yes I know the nc30 uses a 6" but this is temporary. We have a lot of near future projects coming up and budget conscious decision for stove needs to happen for now. But I would like to do 8" on a 20 ft chimney and tuck the nc30 halfway into the fireplace. After a few years and other projects settle I will move the nc30 to the basement and hook her up to my 2nd flue. Then my liner is already set and ready for large beautiful insert! Please tell me this sounds like a sound idea given the current constraints . I know for sure the nc30 and a proper install/block plate is going to be a vast improvement over my current beat up mistreated (previous owner) insert that is currently installed as a direct connect
