Will a Quadra fire run with out a thermostat?

I'm looking to make offer on used pellet stove but want to fire it up to make sure it works.
Can I fire it up without the thermostat. If so what's the process..
 
To test it, just connect a wire to the two thermostat terminal screws. Disconnect the wire to begin the shutdown...
