T-minus 9 hours till its supposed to hit us. We are predicting 10-15in.

That is a wonderful pic! Look at the umbrella pole hole in the center of that perfect sculpture. See how the snow has fallen right through that hole and made a cone on the floor?? That means the snow is the wet, heavy sort.
Looks like a great time for a bbq out on the porch. Maybe a weiner roast and then some marshmellows. Fun time.
looked out on my deck this morning after seeing wad's pictures, my table doesnt have a stack on it like that but teh snow under it is almost up to the botom of the table. still dumping snow here as of 8:30 am with well over a foot already on the ground wind is blowing as well so i see a few drifts which are likley 2 to 4 ft high between the house and the shed. i'll shoot some pictures and post em shortly
Its beginning to look alot like Xmass... we are expecting some snow today. I got wood and pellets ready to go. bring it.

All seriousness aside--I hope y'all don't need to go anywhere. That looks like about 28" to me! Sure wish we had some of that! I even have a snowblower from Colorado days. Now THAT is fun, if you don't have to do it all the time!
Yuk! What a PITA that's going to be. Just be careful shoveling, take breaks and drink plenty of water.
That's quite a pile you got there.we havn't had that much snow here yet.It usually hits us around new years.Just remember snow is a great insulater so your house will actually be warmer.Make a snowman,have some hot chocolate,and enjoy.There's noting you can do about it. :cheese:
pretty similar here wad, about an hour south of you, my silverado has snow up to the back of the cab in the bed. im not looking to go anywhere any time soon

Thats a pretty average storm accumulation where I live. Last year I quit keeping track of daily snowfall at 260" sometime in March . Last year was a record. We usually get around 200". This winter we've had 32" so far. Way below normal.
I'm amazed at how things shut down with a foot of snow where you guys are getting it now. It's life as usuall here when a storm hits. Never heard of a store running out of stuff here, ever.

When one like this only hits every thirteen or fourteen years, and this one is gonna make the top ten since the 1870's, it makes absolutely no sense to maintain the monster snow handling equipment I see sitting waiting when I travel through your neck of the woods. And it also makes no sense to keep provisions on hand for such a storm. Ya just go get it when the forecaster says the poop is gonna hit the prop.
I understand the equipment thing but to not have a good set of rubbers under your horse so you can bust a trail through 2 feet if needed is crazy!
I'm settin here laughin my azz off cuz we only have about 3 inches and nutin' comin down and you guys R gettin' blasted! It's usually the other way 'round. hehehe

I like snow, I have to , I live in Alaska,
But remember big snow fall when I lived in WV & PA as a kid.
It's a good snow for snow forts, riding the coal shovel down the hill.
Heavier than our snow, shovel like you're lifting a big round, watch your back.

Shovel? You guys've got saws and splitters and trucks and UTVs and no snowblowers?! I bought a snowblower and tractor before I bought a house

I hear that part. I parted with nine hundred bucks a few months ago for a set of BFG Commerical T/A-Traction shoes for the Suburban even though they will get worn out on dry roads mostly. They are actually better in snow than the All-Terrain T/a. I just happen to live 900 feet straight up a winding "driveway" from the road and we will just sit back and not put that plan into action unless needed. A few years ago I stuck that Sub going down that driveway because it was plowing too big a pile of snow in front of it. That was after the Blazer had gotten stuck down there doing the same thing with a set of All Terrain T/As on it.
And back then I had a hell of a lot more energy to dig crap out than I do these days.
Oh I'm sooo glad this is 3000 miles away. We got hammered with a triple storm this very weekend last year. Dug out the cars twice and had to make the airport on Monday am. Made it, in spite of being one of the very few mobile vehicles at the time, only to have Delta become totally dysfunctional. We left the airport the next day after camping overnight at SeaTac. I will take the drizzle, thanks.
