Hey folks, havent been on the forums in quite a while. Thought i'd stop in and share our latest wood score. My dad talked to a guy who was looking to sell off his wood supply. We estimated it to be around 15-16 cord and talked him down to a few hundred bucks. We both heat 100% with wood and we normally don't ever buy wood but we've been so busy this past year that our 13'/14' supply is pretty darn low. A friend of dads also needed some wood so we included him in the deal. This score has approximately 6 cord of quarterd rounds, 5 cord of split, and another 5-6 cord of rounds so we couldnt pass it up. It's 75% oak with some other mixed in hardwoods

Here's just a sneak peak of the first load of split stuff i hauled. We also pulled an 8x16 dump trailer of rounds and a 20ft flat deck full of rounds. More pics as the progress continues.

The pile behind the truck and bins on the trailer are the first haul of the split. The bins are 4x4x3

15-16 cord for a few hundred bucks! That would be close to 4 years worth of wood for me! I love cutting wood, but that's a no brainer.:p

Holy.Crap. That's a steal.Dont blame you for grabbing that. That's about 4-5 years worth of wood for me too.

Many years back I spent 16 weeks in the pine barrens.

In a place called Fort Dix.;)

Absolutely ! Fantastic ! score right there .
Even though you paid for it , the work is done and you saved ware n tare and gas n oil for saws n splitter

Thanks guys. Got that load of split stuff stacked today (my fiance helped even after having a rough bachelorette weekend lol) and we're headed back for more tomorrow. Tryin to get the split stuff home and stacked quickly because he's got it piled in the shade and alot of it is very wet. The bottom of the pile is starting to rot.

Wow. Great score. Almost a once in a lifetime offer. Lots of work ahead of you.

Well we're done haulin the rounds, just about all the split stuff and there's a few more loads of the quarters. I think we're up to 12-13 trailer loads now. We probly have 2-3 more trips and we're done. My fiance will be thrilled because then i can spend more time setting up for the wedding lol. 2.5 weeks to go! Oh and by the way, she's helped us unload and stack just about every trip. She even stacked 3/4 cord while i worked a double last friday night!

here's a load of quarters i brought home last night and another pile of splits.
