[Hearth.com] Wood I.D. Please [Hearth.com] Wood I.D. Please [Hearth.com] Wood I.D. Please Can Somone please tell me what this wood is? I have several logs mixed in with oak, red elm and cherry. What is this wood?
 
Not totally sure but the bark looks like Norway maple.
 
Basswood maybe.....especially if the stringy picture is part of the bark.

Yes the stringy part came from the bark and wood. It is orange in color.
