I got some wood from a down tree. I know what it is but I though some may want to take a guess at it. I am in eastern NC.

I’ll guess willow, it looks similar to some I cut up recently. I’m up in WI though

not good at this game game but i will guess some kind of oak, they are normally darker inside like that

The bark reminds me of pecan. I'm living in the wrong part of the country to know much about your stuff though!

Not familiar with this one...but I'd guess Pecan as well.

Where in that pic do y'all see pecan leaves?

Looks a lot like the leaves on my thornless honey locust trees, even how they’re just shooting out the side of the trunk

And I agree with Ben, all the pictures of pecan I see have pointed leaves. One link says that a nickel deficiency in pecan can cause mouse ear shaped leaves but this is all out of my region so just offering my findings.

The green foliage in the last pic is some type of fern growing in the bark. Pecan is closely related to hickory and has the compound leaf similar to hickory but usually with smaller leaflets.

If those leaves are truly from the tree it is not pecan. I agree that the leaves look like honey locust but the bark is all wrong. Mesquite?
