Wood ID please

I won't be cutting this until next spring and have a few of them so I would like to know what it is.

Prunus serotina
the technical name because of the so many cherries that get pictured here.
Wild Black Cherry.
The leaves have some kind of leaf rust.
The wood is great for a scented burn. Its Emerils favorite wood for smoking meat. You know, the famous chef?
19.0 MBTU per cord.

Cherry, soso, not my favorite. Medium burn, much ash. Smells great.

Great aroma splitting and burning. Lots of white powdery ash.

Cherry ain't bad especially if you're in need of something that seasons pretty quick. I like how it looks in the stacks too, stands out.

Because I am in my RV parked out in the Arizona desert. (71* today) When we sold our house last year and bought our 64 acres our trailer is all we had to live in and since we have been going south for the past 6 years we are happy doing this.
Plan on building in 2015.
Right now cutting wood and clearing land. Going to build a wood shed and boiler room next year.

We live in our trailer, that is working real well for now. We have been going south for the winter for the past 6 winters.

Interesting. My wife and I spent 5 winters in the desert near Yuma. We were actually on the California side of the river and right out in the desert; not in a park. We loved it and also considered buying some land down there. But, my wife went through some problems and could not take the traveling any more so we quit going. She is back to where she could stand the travel again but we've made up our minds to just stay home from this point on. We wish you well on your new home.

He couldn't tell for sure because the wind kept blowing so hard he'd wake up in a new place every so often.


Quartzsite is quite the place!
