Any Idea what type of wood this is? Was down already when I got it.

Possibly Black Cherry... can we get a fresh cut end-grain pic?

It's been dead for a while whatever it is. Some fresh split pictures may help.

Here are some split pics. Is really red when first split.

Black Cherry with the big rounds, the limbs with the fungi looks like Black birch, the light gray looks maple. And the fuzzy light grey small limbs look like Ironwood.

Looks a good deal like cherry. Not quite as flaky as I'm used to but they can vary. Color looks like cherry. A sure way to tell is to smell a fresh split solid round. Larger rounds should still have some aroma. A sweet smell says cherry. Looks like you also have a couple white elm branches in the first pic too.

Yeah, hard to tell with it fuzzy. Just looks like the dozens of elm I have around me, wishing they were oak. Whatever they are that's a full season mix.

Thank you all for the info. Picked a dump trailer load for $50 bucks. Started to split the big rounds and mc was around 25 -30 %. Was hoping for 20%. Will be ready for next season. Thanks again.

Some of the wood I think is eastern Hemlock. The branch in the first photo and the splits both look like Hemlock to me. There are many different woods in the pictures
