Another scrounge at my local yard compost site that I'm a little puzzled by. The pic of piece without bark looks like some sort of maple but never seen bark like that on maple. And it was very stringy to split which I've never encountered with maple before. Any ideas? Oh and I found several 4-5 foot long, 5 inch diameter or so logs as well and they had lots of little "nubs" on them for lack of a better term. Like where a branch would start to grow but they are short and rounded.
