Burning Hunk

My wood inventory is pretty simple. I usually bring home a truck load of rounds at a time. Split right away and stack in my drying area near the far end of my yard near the woods line. Then after a year there I top off the wood shed from the drying area and it sits there till the next winter. I am about a cord in as of now and I pulled my the opposite bay from last year and I’m tapping into a road of ash and birch which is 3 years old. Oh man!!! My wife said when I got home the other day “what kind of wood was that!?!?” Pretty mild here now but cold coming next week. The next row is untapped 3 year old pin oak.

Enjoy it! I burn primarily oak here. Great firewood, just have to be patient with it.

Excellent for when temps plummet into single digits, be careful when re-loading as it sparks horrendously, takes a poke to season, not recommended in a fireplace.
