Northern MI - in the mitten
After using the shed for a year (winter- 2010), I decided I don't like cross stacking in the shed (or anywhere else), so wanted to build a partition between the 2 sides of the shed.
A few 2x4s, a little time walking back and forth to the shop to make cuts (and recuts:mad:), my Paslode, and a level, and I've got my wall.

Looks like a good job to me. Very nice shed BTW, Dave.

Nice work Dave! Looks like the shed could hold a few more splits...just sayin' ;)

You guys are killin' me here.
I'll be putting in a split or 2 soon-ish.
Dave, I just went out yesterday and calc'd that each side will hold about 3.5 cord. Pretty much the same thing I calc'd when I built it. Not enough per side to last one season.
With a new stove, maybe.

How do you get to that space behind the front stack on the left side?

Gonna be tough to fill the section on the left,
someone blocked it with a 2X4 wall & a row of wood. ! LOL ;lol

We're a tough bunch to plez sometimes LOL ;)

Again, you guys are killin' me here.
Could it have been done differently? Sure, but I didn't. So there.:p;) I want to build an overhang (like yours, Dave) on the front, so that snow can fall on my head when I go out there.
I've already rebuilt both sidewalls. Work in progress.
The r/h will be filled first, but I'll use the l/h first. I have a plan, confusing as it may seem.
L/H side, Oak in the back, then Maple, then Pine in front. On the right, pretty much opposite. The stuff already in there is the oldest I have, and it's almost 1.3 cord of Oak.
Softwood for the SS, then hardwoods for the colder months.
I'm debating whether I should just almost fill it, or leave some space in the r/h front. Several boxes of kindling that need to go in there.
I shoulda' built a secret passage from side to side. A hideout.
So many ideas, so little time.

PD, I like that secret passage idea.

We've both came a long ways in a few years.

Tweaking a few things now & then
to make it work best for us , is a good thing.

For me, I hope to have to make room of another moose rack this year ;)
(And maybe add a longer eve to the back for another row  )

Yep, we've come a long way Dave.
I keep thinking I'd like to add to the roof in back too. The drips should be farther away from the structure (I guess that would keep me outta' there, eh?).

So correct me if I'm wrong the left side is for firewood and the right is to park the car.

So, uh, let's get crackin' with the firewood stackin'....

[Hearth.com] Wood shed mod

Nice looking shed, my man! And nice mod, too.....

Started today....with the wheelbarrow. Had a small batch of that hard Maple to split, then wheeled that to the field stacks. From the field stacks, I pulled a load to take up to the shed.
Did that 3 times, and finished splitting up the White Pine "branch" that came down a couple weeks ago. Took 2 loads of that back to the field and stacked, the rest got left in a split pile to be stacked ASAP.
Productive day, despite the lack of motorized equipment.
Couldn't stand the idea that I got the "shed mod" done, but couldn't start stacking......so I got to work.

I'm sure I could park the tractor in there.....it's kinda like my car, that only gets driven on the property. I use that thing all year long.
I've thought about it too. Maybe an addition on the left side for the tractor and saw and stuff like that.
