Let me know if it trips out...that seems to be my biggest problem. There is a temperature sensor attached to a cooling fin.
I have a new one still in the box that I will hook up sometime. I know you can side mount them, but I have to look up which side the glow plug needs to be (up or down)

Ran for over 2 1/2 hours with no lockouts/trip outs on maximum output. Just shut it off

Set up some pallets. 10’ L 4’ H 36” deep. Red Oak, Birch, Apple, and some cherry in there. Have to finish a few more rounds of apple and get through the last of the old and part punk red oak rounds I have. May make a roof of sorts for it, if not I’ll cover the top with a heavy tarp.

Chestnut Oak is a White oak i believe! "The King"
Yes, Chestnut Oak is in the White Oak Family. This one is on a farm near my house and blew over in a storm back in the fall. Perfect scenario for collecting firewood...edge of wood line, easy access, and level ground. When you scrounge for free wood, you take what you can get and sometimes they fall right in your lap and even better...its oak!

Haven't done much of anything wood related. The demotivation factor is weighing in on me.....again.
Worked with the "nephew" on his siding job. Not my cup of tea. Builder doesn't want me there. Nephew no longer has workers comp. I explained I'm self employed and it's not needed. Builder's still weirded by it. Fine with me. I hate vinyl anyways. Now he owes me 4wks room and board, and 2 days work. Tired of supporting all here.

Oh well, will be out today moving wood. The lair is low again. Might as well swing the Fiskaris some too.

Not wood related but…

Installed a 8kW diesel heater in my garage. Tired of working in there freezing my butt off doing side jobs. Had to clean this area and build a small shelf for it. Had a “bookcase” type shelf that I disposed of that had paints and all kinds of random stuff there long before we bought the house. Very old stuff that I finally had an excuse to get rid of.

Found a Facebook Group

and the little meter you can add

I can monitor current and power on my app via battery BMS but that is pretty cool! It’s ran for over 6 hours total on high , with 2% battery used.
I recently just installed one of those on my sump pump battery charger. I had a little voltmeter of the same type on there, but wanted to watch what the battery charger was outputting in float ect. You could switch to a smaller cheap sealed lead acid battery and a small charger if you want. I'd like to have your battery for my camper or pellet stove.

I use it for our camper during the camping season. It’s one of the best investments I’ve made for it. It’s a 200aH lithium ion battery

Thursday I got one side of a batch of deck boards sealed in the basement along with some odds and ends accomplished. Yesterday was a snow clearing day again and some shopping done. Today after church the missus' helped me rip some boards thr the radial arm saw in the danged cold, but not as cold as it's about to get...

This week I'll be feeding the fireplace a lot, seal some more deck boards, add some jamb extensions, clean the existing extensions, and hopefully get a start on clear coating.

Reactions: Burnin Since 1991
Brought in a bunch of extra wood and topped off the porch racks for this cold coming in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully we’ll get me 2-3 weeks. I have a ton of cut offs to burn. I’ll be burning those during the day and save the split wood for mornings and nights.

Lots of varieties in these stacks. Ash, hickory, oak, mulberry, beech and sugar maple. The stuff on the floor is sugar maple, beech, oak and mulberry. The stuff on the racks is ash and hickory

-1 at 1:00, pole shed crew showed up at noon to clear snow and start setting brackets. They were rather surprised and pleased that this particular homeowner actually cleared the snow from the site like he said he would...

This morning between loading and tending the fireplace I got started with cleaning and installing jamb extensions. I'm avoiding taking the rest of the extension stock out to the garage to cut to length because I'm being a wimp. Finished snow cleanup around the slab around 11:00 with the snowblower which I didn't do yesterday because of the wind, it was up to about-10 with a real feel of -25 which was better than yesterday's -5 real feel of -30...

15 degrees with light snow doesn't deter construction crews in WI. They are coming back tomorrow with a forecast high of 3 above.

As long as their moving they are good. I went for a walk today and it was cold. The sun was out, and I walking, and I never felt cold. I was working up a sweat. I had a job once though inside a steel mill shutdown in November, and it was basically a desk job. Froze my ass off.

Yeah, I find the same. Snowblowing or working I'm fine until stuff gets wet, but stop to BS with a neighbor or the construction crew and it gets cold fast.

Spent about 4 hours outside today working…

Got all the wood moved out of the trailer and my truck, stacked and covered before the storm tomorrow. Brought in a couple more wheel barrow loads of wood, trimmed to length. Dug the snowblower out of the shed and moved it out front, ready to go in the morning. Also test fired one of my generators just in case (don’t really expect to lose power), started up second pull, hasn’t run in 2+ years. Filled up the 5 gallon gas can, and got a full tank of diesel with extra anti gel for the truck.

That’s looking like some nice stuff, plan on using it for next year or the year following?

Probably 2 years+. It’s decent. Not as clean as the first batch I got a couple years ago. A good chunk of the lengths is short for what I use, it is what it is there not the end of the world. Alot of knotty awkward cuts by the tree service place that bucked up the tree.

Sopping wet though. It was “sweating” so bad with the cap closed up for a couple days there’s frost on all the insides of the windows. A little pink mold started to grow on some of the wood too, but I’m sure that will disappear as it dries

It just keeps on snowing so I keep plowing. I've been taking snow off the sides of the driveway and I pushed it into my storage areas. More snow coming in tonight, 8 -12.

Mine starts overnight. It's going to still be cold and windy so I expect this will be the third day of hibernation, except for running the snow blower tomorrow. Good time to fiddle with indoor projects.

It has been an old fashion winter, cold with lots of snow. When I come inside from plowing, especially with the tractor, I spend time in the basement next to the wood stove.

I made a nice tortellini, meatball and sausage soup. It also has chopped spinach, broccoli in a 50/50 mix of chicken and beef broth. It was ready but then I decided to first go plow then come in and eat. Nothing beats warm hearty soup after plowing in an open station tractor for a half hour. We have 18” so far and the walkway is covered again. I love this winter! 🙂
