I have a Supervent chimney through a cathedral ceiling box, and trying to put in insulation and soffit baffles around it.
I can put XPS foam (Styrofoam) touching a cathedral ceiling box, right? Just concerned as I think about it....as foam may melt at a lower temperature than framing combustion. And some foams can't be left uncovered say in basement insulation without something on them to stop flame spread, but plywood is ok....
Thanks for your thoughts!
