I've started splitting some red oak to burn next season. The wood is green, cut down less then one month. Do I need to tarp it this winter or should I just let mother nature do its thing?

BTW "Mr T" my cat likes the bug, I'm afraid to get rid of it :O

nature works best imo full sun if possiable
