I'm new to pellets this year and have read a ton of post on the different pellets that fellow pellet burners have used and what people like and don't like. It is mind boggling to read what everyone says about the many, many brands that are out there. I think it would be great if everyone that reads this post would just reply with the best pellet they have ever used. Please try to only list your best ever and keep it to one. This would help me and possibly many others figure out what brands to try and avoid the bad ones all together. Me, I have only tried 6 different brands. So here we go. Thanks in advance for everyone who replies.

#1 American Wood Fiber Super Premium White Pine

Okanagan Douglas Fir

Packsaddle doug fir $199/ton. You're not likely to find them outside the Pacific northwest.

I would have made it a Top-3 list with prices, because value is important in a buying decision. And a short reason why, because not everyone chooses a pellet for the same reasons.

#1 - Blazers $239 HD, free delivery, little ash.
#2 - LGs $269, local feedstore, no fines, low ash.
#3 - Crabbé $265, local stove store, few fines, low ash.

Youll notice a trend going on. Just about everyone's top pellet is a brand of douglas fir.

In an ideal world, wouldn't it we great if the ratings here were like the reviews at Amazon, as in "Lignetics gets four-and-a-half flames, based on 308 reviews". Even better if sortable by ratings and exclusions on pellets not distributed in a selected state. I think I'd go shopping with the top ten and bottom ten printed out...

Of course, I have NO idea on how to do that.;em

I really like Somersets. Good consistent size, heat, and ash. I know this can vary year to year or bag to bag. But then again the only other pellets I have any experience with are the ProPellets and they were good too but seemed more ashy and there were a decent amount of long pellets in each bag. Some well over 2 inches too. Burned a ton of them. Also have burned a ton of Sets thus far so I only have 2 tons experience. LOL! I really would like to get my hands on some soft woods to check out all the rave about them myself. Many burners are straddled by the fact of limited choices too. Basically, Here's what we sell...... Take it or leave it!

Must remember that many folks are limited by the pellets available in their area. My vote: SOMERSET

If it's so 'mind boggling' reading the posts, why would you expect the responses to your post be any less mind boggling and bandwidth sucking? Find the pellet that works best in YOUR stove that is available in YOUR area.

I was hoping everyone would just put down their number one pellet to make it easy to compile a list with out reading about why they like that pellet. The intent was a one word answer from my fellow pellet burners but it isn't working out that way.

Any pellet someone gives Me for free.

If I have to actually spend money it would be a toss up between two.

White Bag Green Pinetree Okanagan's (Old, 3 or 4 years ago)
and
Vermont's

Find them about equal in heat output and ash. Comes down to price between them.
I Like the Doug Fir Okie's but not the cost.

Of course......I'm burning TSC brand MWPs right now. lol.
