Oh Lord, it's that time of the season...
BB - Who is so jealous of all of those other stoves and phones he can't afford on a hearth.com moderator's salary.
PS: Just to keep it going, Harman stoves suck.
Let's just all face it!! We're all here because we are too cheap to upgrade the envelope of our homes, and not smart enough to take advice and get into mini splits and solar PV! I for one can't wait to build my new home and get rid of these primitive pellet stoves!
Just about every stove store I went to I could buy a Harman, otherwise it's Kozi, Enviro, Drolet and judging by the displays and enthusiasm to sell it's not a big part of their business. The guys selling Harman on the other hand do a selling job at it
Harman is hands down the best,if you didn't buy a harman you just might be a redneck!
I wonder if the civility here is because pissing off the other guys you're sharing a fire with on a frigid night isn't a real good evolutionary move.
good story...Whit, it's all about the love, brother!
I find truthful pelleteers here and they have been much help no matter what kind of tractor they have parked in the living room! Believe me, if my Harman heads south everyone will hear about it. People need to be educated in a fair and unbiased way no matter what color your tractor is. I feel I got that here. KUDOS! to everyone and Thank You! The big thing for me was my dealer and availability for parts in Feb when it is 10 degrees out and the witch....oops!, that was a Freudian slip and it is close to Halloween you know. The wife, I meant, is cold and hacked off.
Yes I tease her and can say that to her face,,,,, If I feel like being hit with her ride, I mean broom.
We stopped into the local hardware store not long ago and I was there for a new broom (literally). She wanted to look for who knows what (shopping is a full contact sport) and the guys cleared the isles. We were checking out and the older gentleman asked if we found everything we were looking for. I was like,"Yes Sir, my wife was looking for a new convertible." He looked back at me like I had two heads and a bit puzzled that I did not understand his question. Then I paid and handed the broom to her and said, " Mount up and take it for a spin, Honey, to see if you like your new ride. She grinned, rolled her eyes, and (acted) embarrassed. She's used to it. The older guy laughed when he realized he was safe from the broom. Then he said he had been married 41 years and said he and his wife joke like that. Now he makes sure he says HI every time he sees me and we laugh about it.
I think the actual spelling is Whoremoan.......Hey BB you sure it isn't Harmon or Hormone or Harmen stoves that suck ?
We're just one big screwed up happy family trying to defend our decisions to buy a particular brand and why we were sucked into paying way too much for a space heater.I have to say, this is quite possibly one of the most civil forums I have ever seen. One of the motorcycle forums im in, saying something incorrect will get you flamed. Here, from what I have seen, if you incorrectly state some people will politely correct you. Its quite nice. Probably also a reason I haven't been to that other forum in months.
lol you would not believe the level of discourse that passes for mainstream that exists in some of the musicians forums I frequentI have to say, this is quite possibly one of the most civil forums I have ever seen. This place goes through "stove of the year" cycles. Wood and pellet. Presently everybody lusts for a Blaze King wood stove or a Harman pellet stove. Eight or nine years ago it was a lynch mob here because Harman, when answering the phone, wouldn't take a call but just said talk to the dealer. And the reason they called was that the dealer wouldn't fix the thing. I caught unending grief when I bought the first Englander 30-NC here in the "year of Pacific Energy wood stoves". Now there a bazillion owners of the stove here.
They all heat. They all break. Nothing gained with bashing about it. As long as it doesn't get personal, we just go with the flow.

good story...
when the wife and I went Pellet stove shopping, her eyes naturally went to the fancy smancy looking stoves..
I did my homework and wanted a Harman Free standing P Series with it's ease of maint and extra large ash pan..
we came to an agreement if I spent extra for the fancy metal trim package...overpriced but made her happy and me too.
I know I could make some slate insert or something for the ash pan door myself for cheap though
