Today's my daughter's 18th birthday; the school closed just so she could celebrate the day at home---
in 6 or 8" of snow! Not too deep here yet but it's supposed to snow all day.

Snow coming down sideways here. Wife is home from work. Stove had to report to work early today though. We typically burn nights and weekends, stove usually "shows up for work" 4pm on weekdays, a earlier on weekends. Reloaded at 9 last night, at 8am there were still lots of coals, barely got the kindling in there before it fired up. Got enough wood in the house for 1 more relaod, then the shovel comes out if I need more. Very comforting to look over the computer screen and see the fire and turn to my right and see mother nature in all her fury raging just beyond the window. Looks like a lazy day of fire, Hearth.com, card games with the Mrs. and maybe a movie. Enjoy folks.

LOL....I married an Irish girl and she feels the same way. Funny, I have a clock in the kitchen that the battery crapped out at 5:20pm. I set it back to 5pm and left it that way. ( we have three clocks in that room...stove...microwave..and the 5 o'clock clock. No reason not to have cocktails any time at my house.

Crank the stove up to 700 and get the blender out. A frozen concotion is in order.

Cheers! Drink-um if ya got um.

Mike

I measured 15 inches in the back yard at 9am and its still coming down. My office actually got closed and they declared another state of emergency. Thankfully the power is still on and the stove is cranking.

Ive put in about 4 hours shoveling and my neighbor came over with his blower to help yet I'm still not done :( D&*(^&&*^ plow keeps refilling the drive. It wouldn't be so bad if I had more than 4 hours sleep (newborns in the house).

20 inch here and still snowing...with lake effect starting to kick in...

Same here 20 inches and still going. Tried to go sledding with the kids but we couldn't make it up the hill in the minivan. Lucky I made it back with five kids in the car. :bug: I knew it was a bad idea but I had promissed the boys!

Just got one this year. The best gift I ever received. My wifes grandfather had no use for it anymore so he gave it to me. It's a Simplicity from 1988 with a 24" cut and 8 hp. It's a beast. I did my driveway in 20-30 minutes. Including cleaning the van and shoveling the walkway.

im jelaous. if i leave it long enough or dont have time to do it right away my neighbor will do it without asking which is nice. but i try to do it. hes 75 and dont want him to think i leave it cuz i want him to do it.

Snow is over, in Southeast CT. We ended up with 17" here. Plenty for me!
