No fire at bedtime last night, house at 63 this am, and a light rain. The outside temp has held at about 40-42 all morning but it feels chillier.
Put in 2 Maple splits at 10:30, and they'll probably be gone by noon. Keeping the house nice and comfortable in the meantime.
Stove is at 450 and holding.....so far.

Typical November day here, so burned bits of pallet wood through the day, now it's time to sit down and enjoy a romantic evening by the fire.

Couple of nice cherry splits just went in, we are roasting potatoes in the dutch oven on top, and will be putting pork chops on to cook shortly.

Stove top sitting at 475f, 41f outside, 77f inside. Nearly dark outside at a quarter past four.

But who cars about how dark it is outside when the smell of roasting potatoes is wafting about inside ;)

The stove is asleep here with high temp's in mid 60's today and tomorrow near 70. Got (likely the last of) alot more leaves off the lawn and onto the compost heap. Drinking a coffee right now- thank goodness this stuff was invented (discovered).
