What do we know if the Harman temp probe exceeds 25 feet? Is there an official Harman explanation?

You can extend it farther...

From the P68 manual:

The room sensor is a small temperature sensor on the
end of a 60" wire. This sensor is installed much like a
standard wall thermostat. Because it is so small, it can
be hidden along the trim of a doorway or even up the
leg of a coffee table. There is a remote room sensor port
on the rear of the unit for easy external connection. Use
standard 18-2 thermostat wire to extend the distance to
the desired location (50' maximum).

I read that too...but right under that paragraph in the book it says...

NOTE: Distances of more than 25 feet from the unit or in another room are not recommended.

Dont we just love this kind of clarity!!...grrrrr.

Up the gauge of wire. 18-2 is to light of gauge for that far of run, so go to 16-2

Ahhh...but again Harman calls for 18-2 up to 50ft !! (page 5 of the P61A manual)

Right hand not communicating with left:oops: Be easier if they just made a simple wireless system for these situations. Couple batteries would last a season to talk to stove without any wires like the outside sensor we use for the indoor outdoor temp gauge.

I would say this is what they got during their teasing phase and the results dropped off a few feet past the recommended distance

Another clause would be that they are supposed to be room heaters and 50 feet is one big room.

May I ask why would one want to extend the temp sensor to such extreme lengths?

When you use a programable thermostat
