I fired up my Jotul the other night and it smelled while burning. Not a gas smell. Like a burning smell. My gas furnace in my camper would get same smell from non use. Wondering if it’s just dust or rust burning off ? It was in for an hour and still kinda smelled. The flame looks ok and I vacuumed out the chamber. Still smells. Should I call someone in ?

It’s probably dust and or pet hairs that have come to rest on the top of the firebox. You can use a brush to get it cleared, or you can let it continue to burn off.
