Well..... I Really hate to do this. I see so many of these posts about what pellets to buy. BUT..... Here it goes..
Not much time left in the burning season. I have 3 pellet choices that I am gonna drop the dime on. Don't have the time to "Test" burn the Brand I would like to buy. I am Buying 3-4 more tons within the next week. By next weekend I planned on having them purchased. I have 5 tons of Lig's Presto-Logs already. They burn really hot in all 3 stoves, but want at least 8 to 9 tons in the basement, rolling into next year.
Here are the choices.
1- Greenway Pellets --- Burned 10 bags of these. Good heat, clean pellet, low ash, dusty. --------------------------$200.00 a Ton
2- Lignetic's (Green Label) Burned 1 bag of these. Great heat, clean pellet, low ash -------------------------------------$200.00 a Ton
3- Easy Heat Pellets --- Never burned them, local pellet, but will have to drive a little further to get ---------$185.00 a Ton
All and all with a 4 ton purchase I would save $60 or more on Easy Heats depending if he gave a better discount for "Multi-ton" orders. Worst case scenario, I could mix a 50/50 blend together of them. Presto's are one of the Hottest pellets in my stove.
Have my mind about made up. Need others opinions. (Other than try a few bags before you buy) I know this is the Golden Rule of Pellet burning. I always do this. This is the reason I started this thread. 1st time making a purchase without trying (at least this pellet). But this Dealer is 1.5 hrs away and I will be in the area next weekend for my Wife's Baby Shower anyways. Best Dealer in the Area, Trust him when he says its a good pellet. Only Dealer I have met that knows his stuff. All the other don't know there A$$ from a Hole in the Ground. Especially where I purchased my Quad.
Any help is appreiciated. Easy Heats are Made in Ohio. Mill just started up and producing in December 2010. Looking for anyone that may have burned them. Doubt many people have, but gotta try.
