Back Story:
So at the end of last season My Napoleon NPI40 was off when I woke up and the breaker on the circuit was tripped. I flipped the breaker back on and it tripped instantly again. So since It was the end of the season we just bundled up a bit more for the couple more weeks till spring.
Started trying to get it going a couple weeks ago and found that the igniter was bad. I had just replaced it a year or so ago, not from tripping the breaker, but because it stopped heating up. So I figured something else was causing it to fail.
This time when I replaced it I noticed the igniter switch fall right out of its housing when I was removing the wires. Figured the switch was the issue of why it burned out (stayed on all the time) replaced both and it fired right up without any issues tripping the breaker. Igniter also shuts off when it gets to temp.
Current Issue:
So afterward the stove fires up right when I plug it in, no need to press the switch, and doesn't turn off. Now I'm thinking maybe this was my original problem. It never shut off and that's what killed the igniter... still needed to replace the igniter switch because it fell out of the housing, but might have not been the original problem.
I looked on the threads and saw people suggesting the low limit switch. Did a test by unplugging the switch and the stove stayed on so figured that was my issue.
Replaced the switch and the combustion blower (was really getting noisy the last couple years) and fired it back up. Now its very quiet, but still doesn't shut off after the 15 minutes of no heat.
I'm assuming I might need to replace the power control relay... I can't think of anything else that would keep it running constantly? But before I buy one, I figure I would throw it up on the forum and see if anyone thinks I might be overlooking something?
