So far just shy of 3 cords
Are you in northern Michigan? I’m down here in Whitmore lake and just about burnt through my first cord.

The thumb, but I’ve been trying to heat 3200 sq ft solely on wood this year. One cord of it was pine. I’m looking at getting the place retrofoamed this upcoming year.
That’s a lot of square footage.

I’m probably not even down 1/2 cord. It’s been so warm lately. And when it was actually cold, I wasn’t home that much.

I haven't burned very much this year...haven't been burning 24/7 either. Been burning scrap wood, uglies, and residual burn pile wood that is mostly soft wood, so maybe 1.5 cord?
Last year we were bringing in wood 2x a week and this year, about once a week. House has been re-sided and it is making quite the difference also.

1 cord as of today...12/28/19....the day the buckeyes got screwed by the refs in the fiesta bowl.....

come on, they blew a 16 point lead which should have been a lot more with all the red zone field goals. After they blew the lead they needed the refs to call a perfect game. That’s funny....

GO IRISH!!!

Gone thru 6 cords so far of hard maple and black locust for Oct-Nov-Dec. I'm now retired and can/do have the stove going all day and night. I'm slightly less than halfway thru my supply so I'm right on track. Late fall a guy down the road let me cut up and bring home some Honey Locust from a tree he had cut down in his yard so by this time next year I've got that to burn.

Very true on the pitiful field goals ....but when you have SEC (Clemson division refs) calling the game everyone knew which way the calls were going to go.....10 other divisional refs to call the game and the NCAA pics SEC refs.....brilliant. NCAA is a joke

So far for the 2019/2020 season I’m Down about 2.25 out of 5 cords in this bay of the shed. My cat is getting old and I think wood consumption is above normal. We burn for all of our heat and have a 9 month heating season.

out of curiosity, do you split and stack straight into your shed, or does that wood sit out for a bit before getting in there?

6 cords? Out of 12 for the winter?? That's a lot, and into outdoor boiler territory. What are you burning with? Must have a lot of space to heat?

This 20x10x 7 foot tall shed is only about 2 years old and I've been filling it with green wood. I fill it in the summer, and the wood sits in there for 1.5-2 years before being burned which means this season is the first that has fully been aged in a shed. The wood is douglas fir. So far, so good. The wood is up on pallets in a pasture, with full sun and wind. For the last, gosh, couple of decades I stacked in double rows with plastic top covers that let all the sideways rain hit the wood.

Where did you score the plastic pallets?

those are foam pallets from the foam factory. They’re pretty great. Lightweight, never rot, solid so you don’t twist an ankle, and easy to cut to fit your shed. Expanded polystyreneEPS, 20psi, not as soft as regular foam. I knew a guy at the factory.

Thats a slick woodshed highbeam....i like the black too.
The black paint is really cheap but good fence paint from tractor supply in 5 gallon metal buckets. High gloss, oil based. My fence is black too so it matches. Roof is comp just like the house and shop.

I'm about a cord and a quarter so far, Other then a few short cold snaps here and there, its been an easy winter so far

I don’t think I had my first fire until early November which is a month late from previous years. My garage rack typically gets me three weeks of heat during a somewhat normal winter. I just restocked the garage yesterday. Which is only the third time so far this year. Definitely warmer so far this year.

I'm at about a cord and a half, couple cold snaps but it's been generally mild . I think winter will hit hard end of Jan into Feb.
