Once its ported there goes the milage. Keep it stock or get a 460. Too much hype on A.S. and there selling port jobs keep that in mind.Stay tuned until Randy (Mastermind) gets the port work done.
He and a couple other builders on AS are saying it is a stronger stock saw than the 460.
Mastermech, there is a thread with a look inside the saw on AS.

I tend to feel the same way. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of good guys there, and good info. They are definitely chainsaw enthusiasts, which is what that forum is about.
I would bet that 461 is gonna be a good one, though.
Great saw But that is butter-woodWe are looking at a tulip round.........Like to see it in some 40+ hardwood.

I feel its going to be a re-make of a 441. I would keep the 460 lighter with more power!
Tulip or not, MS460 or 461 = Very Big Grin ; )
460 is 14.6 lbs with 14.6 kw and the 461 is 15.2 lbs and 4.4 kw..........
I think my wallet is about to get a lot lighter..
Lemme guess - slightly heavier, but no more power than the 460?
Is the r stand for racing?
I think, unfortunately, that OPE has peaked in terms of power and reliability, in the name of clean air. Along with a lot of other things. In the big picture, it's all good, but I don't know what effect the world's chainsaw fleet has on global warming.

I think you can make most of the newer saws come alive BIG TIME with a simple muffler mod. I've done lots of them, and they work. Granted, they make the saw much louder, but I LIKE LOUDER!!
