Hello all
In 2016 I installed the Mendota Full view Linear ML47" gas fireplace. After install had some smell issues and after it was replaced we found that the smell was being caused by the fake logs. We removed the logs and replaced it with Fire stones and chips. The Unit worked great after that. We never used in the summer and we turned it on for the first time last week and after 1 hour of it running we get a foul smell again. I even ran the unit for 8 hrs with the windows open and days later still smells when we turn it on.. Any Ideas as to why this is happening again??

Can you describe the foul smell?

Maybe it’s that dead squirrel stuck between the liner and the old clay flue. They smell worse when heated.
