When I left the tree in the top photo with snow on it, it was leaning over far enough for me to cut most of the trunk. Warmer temperatures, more rain, and the lack of weight from the trunk and branches allowed the tree to return to its upright position.

You are lucky it happened after you finished cutting . I have seen some that stand up while being cut
they are a very tricky to cut and a lot of experienced woods men have been hurt by them
 
It just goes to show you. If you cut down the brush, the tree stands a little taller. ;lol
