Starting to feel better having pellets accumulating.... [Hearth.com] 2 months of winter heating stacked in the shed[Hearth.com] 2 months of winter heating stacked in the shed

I hear ya. I've got 2 years worth downstairs.

It's a good feeling. Just got my full season worth of four tons done last weekend.

Having plenty on hand is a good thing

Wow. 2 yrs worth? That's a lot of pellets. Hope to pick up 1-2 more tons next month

We would like to get a season ahead but this year we have to fill the propain tank which if calculated right is around $350. Having the Elena upstairs has made a dent in how much we have used LP. Next fill should be in 4 years unless we pull stakes and head south.

Just did my annual oil fill. 200 gallons at $3.24 each.

Oh. Only 6.5 tons for 2 years? We do 6 tons a year. 7 last winter

You either have a larger house, live in a colder climate or keep your windows open all winter long.

We had one of the coldest and longest winters in history. We went through about 20 percent more than average.

We did too. Perhaps the main difference is the fact you use a boiler and I just have a free standing stove. I still need my oil furnace to provide hot water. I also added 10" of R30 insulation to my attic last fall.

The northeast had a cold winter not a record setting winter. The midwest was brutally cold for part of the winter.

Friend that services furnaces in the Minneapolis area got two service calls to repair furnaces the week after the 4th. They are talking the area may have one of the coolest years on record. Yesterdays high 70 todays high 73. Supposed to be in the mid 80s.

Yes it was below zero wind chills for 3 months straight. We do have a huge old farmhouse, but it has good insulation. 2 story with 9 foot ceilings
