I'm looking to add a blower to my fireplace somehow and need advice. It has pipes running along the top of the box and they come out on the outside of the box as you can see in the pictures. So I'm looking to hook up some kind of fan system to blow air through those pipes and vent that out the vents below the fireplace. Any ideas?

Is the cement block structure the outdoor chase protecting the fireplace? Also, is the top of the fireplace view looking through and down from the upper grille opening? If so, this looks like a heat loser due to lack of insulation.

Do you know the make and model of the fireplace? I may be on a small tag in the door frame.

Yes it is from the top looking through the vent. Not sure about your first question, it's rock on the outside then block. I'll upload two more photos one with who made the fire place.

If uninsulated, the rock covered cement block is acting like a giant heat sponge. I don't think adding a fan would help much.

How should I insulate it?
This should have been done at the installation time. At this juncture it would be a challenge. I would consider that task when the Zero clearance fireplace is replaced.

I see allot of rust on the unit a nd the stack i think it is probably time to consider replacing the whole unit

Yes, that was my thought too. Maybe due to condensation build up in the chase?

I don't have six thousand dollars laying around unfortunately...
But it from what i see i seriously have to question the safety of the unit
