On the other end of the wagon spectrum ,i once owned a rambler american wagon. Had about the performance of a lawn tractor ,but since all the seats folded down front to back and i was a teenager at the time ,i didnt even notice:cool:.

My next truck needs 350HP minimum 400+ preferred. Since the larger engines have the ability to power down to just a few Cyls anyway these days, less reason to buy a small engine truck.

I would like to never buy any vehicle with less than 500 hp. Sadly, they just aren't available today, the too-short bliss of high HP early-2000's vehicles ended quicker than it started. The SRT-10 is dead, and was never even offered in 4wd anyway. I had to settle for 5.7L and 400 hp from the factory... which is just pathetic, IMO.

Why there isn't a 500+ hp light truck on the market today, I will just never understand. There is a market for it, as Whipple and Magnuson have already proven.

Currently looking at a late model Camaro SS for the wife who at 53 seems to be going through that mid life thing. But Hey im on board with that. Ran across some nice low mile corvettes in mint condition for around 30k so now i think she has moved in that direction. Insists on a Manual Tranny. Some models are close to 100k new. lots of front end depreciation there to take advantage of. A few test drives should clear things up.

World of difference between the auto and stick on the Vette. Stick is fun as hell.

I still prefer manually rowing gears, it’s just more fun. But the latest auto trans cars (eg. ZF 8HP variants) will outperform the best driver in a manual under every possible racing and road condition. If you want fun, go manual, but if you want to win at the track it’s gonna be auto.

My wife wanted a new Vette in 2007 and after driving several automatics I was less than enthused about them. Drove a new 2008 six speed and I was like wow we gotta get one of these. Fun car. I am sure the auto trannies are much better now but I would still need a stick to make me happy in a go fast car.

No interest in racing at all,and the wife wont settle for anything but a stick. Im ok with either one, but im not sure how my knees feel about it,I already wear an ankle brace. Good excuse to have her do the driving. I imagine it will be a tricky trying to keep the tires locked to the road with all the HP in front of a 6SP tranny.

450 hp isn’t too shabby. Some bigger turbos and a tune and you’re there? Roush F150 is 650 hp

You got a link to that? I’m not seeing it on their site, which is too clogged up with their usual “hood graphics and fancy tires” crap, to find much in the way of actual performance mod’s.

I actually googled it, my big Boss Ross Myers bought a Raptor last year and I remember looking up the EcoBoost Raptor and it having 450 hp. I’ve seen the Roush at Sands Ford in Red Hill

If that’s not enough, the Shelby F150 has 750 hp. Now, if I could just hit the lottery...

Gonna have to check that out! I’ll probably head thru red hill later this morning, need to retrieve something from a friend in Pennsburg. Too bad I just replaced my truck in 2017, I probably won’t be shopping new trucks again until 2027!
