We dodged the bullet here. The low hustled north into Canada quickly and the winds didn't get much above 20 mph. We got some much needed rain with little drama.

We had that yesterday - was driving out west to a baseball game of my son and it looked similar. Very nice.
Then at night it started to get windy, and I kept getting sand from the baseball infield blown in my eyes...
(Luckily the evening was short b/c "we" (ahem, I was just sitting on a chair) mercied the other team when it was 10-0

We had a nice red sky last night as well. And so far not much wind or rain, but they've moved the timeline back a bit. Will have to check in with the folks on the cape and see how they're making out.
So far here it's okay. Lots of wood on the ground. Still power.
Rain and wind of course. Maybe because it took a track closer to the west half of long island.
It seems it's going to be lasting longer as the storm is stalling off the coast.
We did take a walk in a dry spell to the beach at the Sound.
Much erosion happening.
That retaining wall is 10 ft tall and it's low tide now. Normally there would be 60 ft of beach now.
Waves crashing in felt like earth quakes, really thunderous,nthe ground shaking. Lots of beams floating by from walls collapsed. A kayak and a small boat floating by too.
You can see the color of the water due to the erosion of the beach, and in places cliffs. On top of those cliffs are homes...

I saw a news report yesterday and they had good video of the noreaster. They said with the harvest moon the tides would be high anyway. They showed some highways in North Carolina on the outer islands washed out and closed. Other sea walls taking a beating. I guess there will be a lot of wet basements and erosion. Here in PEI some shores have really bad erosion with red mud shorelines.
Yeah. No wet basements on my side of the island. Had to climb 110 steps up the cliff (and half a mile inland after that) to get back home.
