6.5 Inch stove pipe???????

I have an old Derco Grizzly catalytic stove that has a top exhaust flue collar that has an outside diameter of 6.5 inches and an inside dia. of 6 inches.7 Inch is WAY to big and 6 too small to fit correctly on the collar. What's the trick? Can anything be done with the average sizes (6,7,8) of connections or is this some obsure special order item. Teach me.

A connector pipe crimper should allow you to get the 6" pipe into that flue collar...

Use stove door gasket to make up the difference. Makes a good seal and is much better than mudding in furnace cement.

Is it legit to have the crimped end inserted in to the flue collar? I know with the draw of the chimney no smoke will escape, I've just always seen the stove pipe fit over the collar not inserted. But just cuz I haven't seen it don't mean crap.......

The cripmed end most always goes inside the collar.

Yes that way all of your joints run the same and correct direction as to direct any creosote ito the stove and not outside the pipe.

A lot of these old stoves had an odd sized flue collar, so most just stuck the pipe over the flue collar. Therefore all the pipe was installed backward, the male end should point down. An adapter is made for these odd flue collars, its called a double skirted adapter.
