A neighbor that I have helped over the years is aging out of wood burning.
    Selling an 2008 Biomass 60KW.
Well cared for boiler with extra blower and controller in box for spare, pumps, piping, possibly 24' of stainless flue and fittings. $5000.00 cash and carry in SW Missouri

Our BioMass 60 has served us well as an entry level price point gasser. This could be an excellent buy for someone.

That's debatable in my opinion. Reason being, I recently bought a Froling FHG 20/30 on sale for $7K. Yeah I know it's a sale price but it's new, has a warranty, and Lambda control. For a while I was considering buying a used boiler but was thankful I found a good deal on a new one. You might save 2-3k today but if you need to put 1500 back into it in 2 years it might not seem like such a good deal anymore, especially if it comes at an inconvenient time like mid heating season.

Well I think 5K is the total system ask. We'd all offer less. Yes, great buy on your clearly superior boiler, but you have to add plumbing, pumps, insulated flue, etc to compare your system install cost to picking up this complete system for maybe.... 3k.

8 years of service and I'd guess I've spent less than $500 in replacing ceramics and door gaskets (standard expendables). No question you have a superior boiler, but I'd bet your system install is near 10K all in (probably more). I'd offer 2.5-3K for this complete system and for someone not flush with cash wanting a gasser vs a smoke dragon it would provide good service.

No question I agree with you, I'd never buy used but I'm very thankful of my financial situation.... which today is WAY better than when I bought the BioMass in '09. Congrats on your fine choice of an excellent boiler. Now if you get tired fetching and splitting just ask me about my Windhager. :)

Keep in mind this is a 60 KW boiler, twice the size of the sale boiler you bought. Compare it to the sale price of a 60KW Froling to be fair.

It also includes the most expensive components as spares, fan and controller sure door gaskets, and has quite a bit of $$ extras.

I'm not sure where you would ever expect "to put $1500 back into it in 2 years"?

Yikes. See, this is a problem. When I advertise something I select a fair price that I expect to get. It's not an auction. If he was willing to take 2500$ then he should advertise for 2500 and take the fast cash. I would be mad that you wasted my time if you came up and only offered half.

Maybe it's just me though. I go to the store and pay full price for milk.

    This. This. This.

If I'm selling or buying something I poke around a bit and see what others are asking for the same or similar item. When/If I negotiate a price it is assumed that the price is a fair one in my mind. When I arrive to buy said item I do not attempt to re-negotiate the price
If the asking price is much too high I move on without wasting MY time with the seller. If the condition is not as advertised I walk.

For someone to come in and offer half price on an item is an insult.

Now if the boiler came with a hydronic design by bob rohr, it could be worth more than the asking price!

Some additional info on this system. About 24' of flue pipe, tee and offsets, two new spare motors and new controller, turbulator chains, cleaning tools and brushes. Two stainless steel wear plates for the gasification slot, Grundfos pump.

    Reasonable offers are considered.

I may be able to help with shipping as I travel the US for work and have some eastern trips planned this fall. Or possibly meet a buyer part way. You would need a trailer able to handle around 1800 lbs.
