So here this past fall, I got a little case of CAD, I found a Stihl 017/MS170 Frainkinsaw, this thing is a mad little bumble bee... Not a pro saw by any means, but just a fun little saw to use around the yard/farm and some limbing, even a little firewood work. Well, that got me wanting my freebie Stihl 028 Wood Boss up and running. (it's still on the bench needing to get to it) and maybe a muffler mod.

After suffering through cleaning fence rows on the farm with my Poulan Pro 3516 (it was another free saw) I knew I wanted a bigger saw.... then CAD really bit me.

I had contemplated picking up a new Echo from my neighbor that is a dealer, but he doesn't keep any big cc saws in stock. (sells mostly to home owners and farmers, love Echo string trimmers BTW)

So I was on craigslist looking for saws all the time, I was wanting 60-70 cc's and in a Stihl or Echo. I found a Stihl 038 Magnum II some what close to home, for what seamed to cheap, ended up missing out on it, was just a old farmer that didn't know what he had. I knew finding a "good deal" on a saw this time of years wasn't going to happen to often. So I started checking AS, and a few other chainsaw friendly forums, and really researching what I wanted and what I was using it for. Was leaning to a 046/MS460, or 038 Mag II, even up to a 066/MS660 (but my FIL has a fleet of MS660's) Then I started reading about the M-tronic on the new CM saws from Stihl, and really like the idea of a "self tuning" saw. So that got me thinking new saw. Over the weekend I decided I was going to a few dealers this week and check out saws. I was cursing AS reading reviews and mods done on new model Stihls. I was really liking the MS362CM's... then on Sunday I noticed ad for a "like new" MS362RCM... the seller posted some pics and I sent a PM... found out he was "close" to me and willing to meet. Got the back story on the saw, it was bought new in Colorado and not really ran much, then bounced around a few guys on AS, none of them running it cause it was in such good condition and had the full wrap handle. Turned out the original owner had contacted the seller first, but wasn't sure he wanted it, turned out he had a lead on a MS362CM that had been ported by Mastermind, for a cheap price, and he really only wanted the full wrap handle and hardware of this saw. He ended up passing on it, not wanting the full saw, so on Wednesday I drove almost 2 hours, in sub zero temps and 20 mph winds to meet the seller. Saw looked even better then described, we struck a deal for the saw, with a like new Stihl 20" ES bar and chain.

Now I just need the temps to get up to where it is bearable to be out side and get this saw in some Black Locust.

And figure out what the next saw I "need" is, LOL.
