Hi all,
We have purchased a large Drolet Deco Alto Stove for our drafty old Farmhouse here in eastern NC.
We are hoping to use it for our primary source of heat, however we do have central heating for backup. We have old windows- our house is a single story 1700sq foot home with a pretty open floor plan. We loose a lot of heat via the windows. That’s why we purchased the big boy. Hoping to lower our bill in the winter months ranging mid $400’s
Trying to figure out where to install it is now the question.
We initially had a fireplace installation company company come out that quoted us well over 15k to install a Blaze King stove and advised we place it next to our air return which is a central place in our home (vented via chimney through the roof)
Dumb question but wouldn’t that just pull all the heat out- not circulate it around the home correct?
option#2 is on a wall that could be vented directly outside still in our living room- next to sliding glass doors.
(will attach pics)
#3 is installing hearth in front of these old wooden beams which is central to kitchen & living room.
Thanks soo much for your help! I’ve learned so much from this forum already! After nearly 6mo of research ready to finally get this baby installed.
(Keep in mind rearranging of TV & furniture will be done in pics!)
