I just got back from a vacation in Hilton Head SC. It is one of the most beautiful places we ever go to. They save as many trees as possible and commercial businesses cannot have a sign larger than what seems to be 6X6. In fact it is hard to find places, I could not even find a grocery store the one time because it was so hidden. In Palmetto Dunes plantation, what I think is the MOST beautiful place we were on a bike ride and came upon this tree in the front yard of someones house. I am sure all of us would have cut it down and put it out of its misery, but down there it is a work of art. It is amazing this tree is still thriving. Also notice these are called Living Oaks and the leaves are nothing like us Northerners are used to. They lose leaves but just regrow another set. Also notice the spanish moss (which I found out is not moss nor is it spanish).
