And one up this way . . .

The kicker . . . this is the third fire in X number of years for these folks . . . and one of the owners is an Assistant Fire Chief.

Woodstoves don't start fires....people do.;)

Wow, that surprises me Steve. One would think with all the flashing lights after an accident that there would be some safety there. Sad to hear about.
You would think so, but in the last 10 years I have seen this get continually worse. It is not that they don't see us, they just refuse to be inconvenienced by us, so they don't slow down, or get over, or regard us in any way. Then it happens and they have no where to go and way to fast. It is getting worse and worse.

That is crazy for sure.

Everybody now a day is in a hurry to get there. Trouble is they really don't end up getting there much quicker all said and done. I just read an article by AAA that said a big percentage of the folks that feel someone talking on a cell are putting them at risk, the same folks admit to occasionally talking on a cell while driving. "It's always the other guy". Sorry to hear you've lost some fellow FF's Chief.

Thanks, LP. It has got to stop. It is starting to happen way to often. I don't know the answer, but I do know that when we go to the Interstate my first concern is my people. It distracts me from our mission and that is the accident victims, and that makes me mad.
