This is my third weekend in a row getting out to cut on a Saturday just as the sun's coming up. This week was back to my buddy's farm to do a little cleanup work...bagged a truckload of mulberry and hackberry, with a little black walnut for good measure. What a great way to start the day!

Nothing like working outside at dawn! It's the prettiest time of the day. Processing firewood is about the only thing that gets me outside on a cold winter's morning, so my "hobby" has exposed me to a lot of beauty I would have missed otherwise. An ax, a cuppa joe, and Mother Nature make a great combo!

There really is something very inspiring about accomplishing a significant task early in the morning...whether it's a good workout or some good ol' manual labor. Really makes you feel great the rest of the day.

Exactly. And when people look at you cross for drinking whisky at 10am, you can tell them you have been up since 4. So its really more like 2pm.
