Just wondering if anyone is burning a regular fire yet? Be it 24/7 or every night or whatever. As long as you are fired up on a regular basis chime in. Let us know where you are and the daily temps you have (daytime high and overnight low).

As for me, we are having a nice warm spell here ((broken link removed)) right now. Although I often feel like making a warm fire after watching the boy playing hockey already, so far i have held off.

Ask my wife and she'll complain she hasn't been regular for weeks. :wow: No burning here. With night temps still in the 50's, the house never gets below about 67.

Daytime 60's to 70's, nightime around 40 to 50. I've lit the stove four or five times now but won't have it lit for the season for another 4-5 weeks most likely.

I have not burned anything yet. Only in the 50's at nite here no big deal.

There are a bunch of rent cbins over looking the White River here. The rent people burn the fireplaces in them every night. That is where a sell most of my wood. Last week it was a full moon and you could see the lil trails of smoke all up and down the holler at nite.

Peope in town are starting to call wanting wood deliverd now though. I have 8 rick to haul tomorrow to Rogers. at 75 a rick of dry oak delivered Ill do good, 60 for pine. I got another 40 rick of oak piled up and dry ready to go, 50 or so of pine and a whole lot more to cut and sell green. everybody is wanting to burn wood this year but nobody wants to cut it.

Northof 54th: Only 2 things burning here in Ontario are pellets( low 40's tonight) and my hopes of the Leafs making the playoffs this year, at least Cujo is around to give us something to get excited about. Looking for good things from the Oilers this year as the western style is the best hockey around and they should still have the grit to make a run.
Doing the rink rat thing here as well with my son playing net in Peewee rep(5 days a week).
GO OILERS.

Every morning!

no fires here yet. probly a good thing since I havn't put the stove back together yet. ordered a new fan but havn't installed it.

Every second evening here. Plus 5c to -2c in the am. Load it up and set it at low. Windows open a crack in the bedrooms.
And yes I have to restart a fire each time. Getting 15 to 16hrs burn time at this temp. Stove glass is getting dirty  chimney
staying clean. :-)

not even clean it out from last year yet!

In the next few minutes when I leave this addictive forum, I`m gonna light it up. Because in the basement where the finished rec-room is and where the big screen sits is where the wife wants to watch TV this evening. And the temp down there right now is only 56 and and upstairs is 68.

Four televisions in this house and I had to pick the rec-room where the Kodiak Bear is located to place that big screen. Serves me right, I suppose.

I think many of us may have forgotten that last season many were scrounging for wood in February after a tough heating season. I am going to hedge my bets and wait for the downside when we typically get screwed on oil prices. I ran out in the middle of February.

i'll be regular once this bran muffin kicks in..... actually had 1st breakin fire of my regency i2400 tonite....what a thrill. Small fire...burned 4 small splits started at 6 and still going slowly now - did get the automatic blower to kick in - so everything seems to be in order! Fire is so different than the fire place we replaced. My next breakin fire I'll get it a little hotter...(that's what she said)

I ate at least 2 pounds of steamers (steamed clams) tonight, so regularity is on the horizon!
