This will be a joy to split unlike the hickory from hell! I love some cherry. Cut down another small one but the sucker hung up on me. I'll get it tomorrow.

Rebelduckman, you take some nice pics dealing with wood, thanks. I would of hate to have done that hickory by hand too, looked bad. I have processed many black cherry, most could be split by hand, some where a bear though and needed some sledge, wedges, and even noodling. Good luck :)

Thanks a lot! I've been lucky with the cherry so far. It's all pretty much split like butter. My day is coming though cause I cut a bunch of it

Keep the Cherry, send the Hickory up here, I'll take that nasty nasty stuff off your hands...

One of my favorites.
Yep, there's something about Cherry....and White Oak, and Slippery Elm, and Dogwood. OK, maybe I just like wood. ==c
Along with a smattering of Cherry, we bucked and hauled up another cord of White Ash at my BIL's yesterday. 24" DBH with the bark starting to come loose a little but the small twigs still on. This must have been the first year it didn't get any leaves...really clean wood. Not too hot out, and the ticks don't seem bad either, for some reason. :)
