Just an update as I know people like pictures. Worked on stacking the ash (in the rain) and getting the truck unloaded [Hearth.com] Backyard update [Hearth.com] Backyard update [Hearth.com] Backyard update [Hearth.com] Backyard update [Hearth.com] Backyard update [Hearth.com] Backyard update [Hearth.com] Backyard update [Hearth.com] Backyard update

As you can see, there is still more to stack.

looks great....i love working in the rain for some reason...have fire going while im splitting wood...:)

i spotted something in the last pic that caught my attention though.....it looks as though you have had a tree grow around your fencing and you have chainsawed them back leaving the trunk suspended? I have a similar scenario at my house with a poplar that had grown into a wire fence...i have chopped the majority of the poplar around the wire but am left with the stump in the fence....does anyone have tips on how to remove the trunk or do you have to replace the fencing?

That's a mulberry that I cut off. One of these days I plan on getting the saw and trying to trim some of it off. Otherwise, I will let nature run it's course.

On the left is 2 year old mulberry and oak. The pile and stack on the right are ash. Not sure what kind, but was curious. Sounding like I'll be getting close to 1.5 cords of Siberian elm this week. Much bigger than the picture shows.

Well done Steffie. I love the look of your stacks and the redbud in bloom gives an added appeal to the pictures.

Thanks,
That poor tree is being over taken by the neighbors elm and to much shade. Had a limb broken off before we got the place (9 years ago) and has a little rot going on there. They are very pretty this time of year. I just hope the stacks don't fall as they tend to.

Much bigger than the picture shows!!?? It's as tall as the 5 ft high fence!!

Is that a battering ram I see in some of those pics? Is that for hammering a wedge?

Are you referring to the steel post driver? She is using steel posts all over and that tool is very handy for driving them into the ground.
