[Hearth.com] Base for my Bosca stove
Never got my bosca stove installed last fall so I am at it again.

going to build my own base for the stove approx 3" of non combustible

between the stove and wood ( oak) floor.

What size do I need to make it and not have a trip hazard?

You only need Ember protection? Buy some drywall or hardy backer board and lay some tile over it, grout, trim, and be done. Most can do it for less than $50-$70.

how big of base do I need? stove is 24" x 24" birds eye view

The manual or the metal tag on the stove (UL listing tag) usually has the clearance to combustibles and also the dimensions of the area that needs ember protection. Generally the first few pages of the book goes over this.

Here is an example of the tag your looking for.

If that is an exterior door right next to the stove, you may have a tough time doing a "code" install there. Minimum horizontal distance to a door or window = 4' per manual.
