Basement install questions

I'm thinking about installing either radiant floor heating for my first floor or installing a pellet stove in the basement. I haven't checked on any prices for the radiant heat yet. I'm really just looking for any input. I have a full basement with concrete walls. The walls are currently uninsulated,the ceiling is. At some point the basement will be finished. 1 section already is. I just don't like cold floors and was wondering if a pellet stove would warm the floors. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

A pellet stove is a space heater not a unit built to heat floors
Better off with radiant in floor heat for warm floors
You would have to get the basement to hot to feel the effect in the floor

Your right because when I do finish the basement virtually no heat from a stove would warm the floor. Just needed another opinion. Thank you.

Once the basement heated up your the floor on the upper level would be nice and warm. But as u just pointed out once they are finished it would take a while for heat go penetrate. That being said are the floors insulated now? If not the cool damp air from basement will always make them feel cold

Oil furnace with baseboard heating throughout the house. No heat in basement

Ahhh well their is the issue... the cold is probably leaking around insulation keeping the floors cold. So a pellet stove or some sort of heat in basement would sure help

I installed in our finished basement three winters ago. The basement floor has radiant in-floor heat (no longer used) so it's insulated. The pellet stove definitely warms the floor and it actually holds the heat well - vinyl plank flooring on top of the concrete.

If that vinyl plank is what I'm thinking of ( sorta has a airgap in it) that works great. Create a thermal brake so the floor feels warmer. Just installed that in a home. Going to do it in mobile home

I have hard wood throughout my house and pergo (snap together) flooring in my kitchen and bathrooms. The pellet stove in my basement definitely make my floors a more bearable temp. I have my ceiling in the basement insulated and my walls in basement are not. It’s obviously much warmer directly about the stove but even on the other side of the house the floors aren’t bad because my basement is about 75*.

I have 240v electric radiant heat in my floors at the opposite end of the House then my pellet stove and it does a awesome job. It takes the chill out of the room and is nice and toasty on the feet
