I've been using my Hearthstone Shelburne for maybe 10 years now while I'm in winter wonderland. I think I have some basic stuff to learn that I don't know.
My question here is to find out if there is a way to minimize the ash(?) that I find all over my house from burning wood and the air quality concerns from this. When I load wood I try to make sure there is a good draft up the chimney by cracking the door and opening up the air valve thing (sorry, don't know the terms). Also, I remove some coals about once a week which makes an air quality mess despite my kluge wet cloth I use in front to try to contain the ash in the air. What is the best way to improve air quality with woodstoves? I'm burning 24/7 with very dry wood, at this point.
