I'm liking my steel-hearted stove all the more. Flue temp rarely goes over 600F on startup and settles down quickly in secondary burn. The cast iron jacket has lots of time to absorb heat without affecting the convection from the stove body too much.

. Jotul and BK did honor to the Alderlea, though Quadrafire and Napoleon had the first cast-jacketed stoves I think. The T6 has the most mass. It's a very heavy stove.
