Block of plate needed ?

Hi another block of plate question.my stov sticks out from hearth completly so stove is in room is there still a need for block of plate.stove over 600lbs don't want to have to move stove,will become contortionest if need be. just checking before i start.thanks for any info
 
Mine are 90% and 100% in the room and I did both because the are external chimneys. If its an interior chimney, maybe not as much of a gain as long as the top plate is sealed well. Material costs are pretty low so if it is a DIY, I think it is a no brainer to do it!
