Boiler Room!?

What am I looking at!?

This is in the "boiler room" of a property we're wanting to buy but I have no idea what any of this is, whether it works, what it does, if it should look like this or where to even start to get the answers...

Anyone out there know if this set up looks okay? Or how much it would cost to get someone in who does OR how much I'd need set aside to get this all up and running worst case.

The house runs on oil and we're in the UK.

First pic, from left to right, I think you have an unused water heater with an old sump pump on top.

Heatpumpcyl is a water storage tank designed for use with a heat pump. It appears to be hooked up.

Silver tank labeled Cool energy on the oil boiler. Proably a small indirect water tank fired off the boiler.

On the far right of the pic I believe is your heat pump. I’d think it’d normally be outside, but… *shrug*

Large square jug isn’t rated for hot water, so maybe homeowner thought up water preheater using the air to slowly warm up a batch of water before one of the other water heaters finishes the job? Or maybe it’s your oil tank?

Any idea what a set up like this would cost to rip out and start again?

i have no idea what prices would be on the other side of the Atlantic. I suppose just googling the individual components there could give you an idea.
