Border collie near 13 years old, vestibular syndrome

Hello everyone,
my Border Collie, near 13 has vestibular syndrome, I am waiting for the intervention of a vet,
I have not found much on the internet,
if anyone knows how I can help my friend,
in the meantime, it is greatly appreciated.

when i typed it in came with a lot of sights, basic, need the vet to determine the cause. my springer is 14 have bit of same thing going on, at present blaming it on meds for another problem which hopefully will be cleared up by the meds shortly. only have one left of the two in the avatar, lost one to cancer couple years ago.

As above only a vet can tell what is causing it. My 14-year-old GSP (German Shorthaired Pointer)
Had an ear infection which caused it once it cleared up he was right as rain until he died of natural
causes at 20 years of age Still miss him by my side everywhere I went. Best friend and hunting partner
for almost 21 years

thanks to all for the answers, much appreciated.
Corticosteroids were administered tonight,
in the hope that the situation will improve,
otherwise it will be necessary to hospitalize him,
according to the vet,
but "Boss" is not the character to be transported and remain in the clinic,
it would be like killing him,
a bit like me by the way.
We'll see tomorrow,
we would like to call another vet.

I fully understand the hospital thing, glad improvements happening. I am not haveing as much luck with my springer so far.

We have had this happen with 2 of my border collies (we have quite a few as working dogs). One was 15 the other at 16 years old. Not a ton to do unfortunately the meds you have onboard can help. They bounce back better than you'd think.

It's been a couple of days since he started following my father again, together with a German shepherd, and today he ate reasonably well, but slowly, however, I have some doubts about the kibble in the bags, (which are still of good quality) we have trusted too much in these products, especially in this last period, and I want to start paying more attention to his diet, implementing omega 3 especially, and also considering him in the quantities of food that we eat, I believe, that this perhaps, can benefit his health.

Food is huge, we jumped around for a few years and settled on Purina. My working dogs get pro plan sport and my senior dogs get their pro plan senior blend. One dog gets their kidney specialty. In my experience its a very consistent food.

Our lab had what i think was a vestibular seizure years ago. We thought it was a stroke at the time but the vet across the street came over in the middle of the night and assured us it was not a stroke and that she would be ok after going thru a very ugly and scary seizure. She had a very slight head tilt after but not all the time. She lived for a few years after that in good shape for an old dog (12 years plus.)

Hopefully your dog is going to be ok.

How’s the pup doing?

Sorry for not replying,
I don't think I received the notification.
Up until a few days ago, everything was fine.
Now Boss is down,
he doesn't want to get up.
The vet prescribed some anti-inflammatories,
but there's no improvement.
I think I'll have to put him down.
My vet says he might have a hernia, but to diagnose it, I'd have to go on a long trip, and they might not do it anyway on this dog, who is 14 years and 2 months old.

He’s quite interested in his food, and I’m giving him omega-3s as well. I want to keep up with the anti-inflammatory medication, but if he doesn't get up, it’s going to be a problem, because the vet says the skin underneath could get damaged; he also administered an antibiotic to help mitigate this issue. Fingers crossed.

Hope the meds work. It is so hard to depart with a faithful friend. I had to do it years ago and haven't had another dog since then.
