I am in need of dry kindling to start fires and have a number of non pressure treated old redwood fence boards with fence paint on them I would like to use as kindling.
The manual for the catalytic stove says don’t burn glossy newspaper or pressure treated wood as these can poison the catalytic combustor.
Does the same apply to fence paint (paint is less then 20 yrs old, so non lead or mercury containing, should be latex based I think)?

I wouldn't.

I agree with these posts. I even scrape off spray painted sections of trees when they were marked for felling.

Honestly, I would use it for kindling in my noncat but no way in my cat stove.
