Cut this down last week and went back to buck it up today. No bark except for the trunk. It pretty heavy even though it was dead. Any ideas what it is? My buddy said ash but I'm not sure. It was heavier than any dead ash I had taken before. Tx
Thanks for the help. It sure didnt split like ash, a little stringy and hard. There's another that is sitting behind this one but it has a huge widow maker hanging in it so that will have to wait till it falls down.

I'm staying away from that. This was at my buddy's house and he got a call from his neighbor while we were there. He has a huge red oak that came down during sandy that clipped his deck when it fell. He had someone come remove the limbs that were close to the house and left the rest. He said we can have it all, thats where I'm headed next.
