That tall flue warns of too strong draft. This system needs to be tested with the stove cold and fully warmed up at operating temps.
Thanks do you think drolet 1800 I would be better for my chimney? If the Chimney was 30 ft would that be better. I have not measured but put a 33foot pole up it to get it to stick out a foot
Drolets are very easy breathing stoves so they would be worse. You can put any stove you want, you will just need a damper or two in order to slow down your draft.
To expand on what was said above, the chimney dictates how a stove runs. Stoves run off vacuum. A chimney with hot exhaust in it pulls fresh air in to the stove as the exhaust rises. Tall chimneys can pull the air in pretty fast, making it hard to control a stove. The greater the difference in temperature between the chimney and outside, the greater the pull is. A chimney that doesn’t draft well when it’s 60 outside will draft like crazy at 20.
Most stoves are designed to run on around 15’ of chimney. Some Canadian stoves are designed to run on less. A 33’ chimney has the potential to draw in so much air that the stove is hard to control. The dampers mentioned above partially block off the chimney so it can’t pull as hard.
